I Have Tasted

I have tasted of Your mercy and Your grace.

I have tasted of Your comfort as tears streamed down my face.

I have tasted of Your love and of Your care.

I have tasted of Your faithfulness as each day I wake to find You there.

I have tasted of Your goodness and Your wholesomeness too.

I have tasted Of Your Lord and I have found that true,

 none satisfies like You.

Good And Plenty

I love Good and Plenty candy (licorice). I like to shake the box and make it sound like a choo choo train. I even sent away for the good and plenty whistle. I guess I am just a child at heart. But I don't want to talk about candy. I want to talk about something sweeter and more wonderful, God. God is good. And Just like with the candy a person isn't going to know that if they don't take a taste. I don't mean to physically lick or bite or chew God. I mean Take Him into your life. Give Him some time there so you can savor His flavor (taste His influence on and in your life). Let Him nourish you and let your life absorb Him as your body does food. With Him there is now waste. There is an over flow of living water and nourishment for others. After you really taste of Him you will know that God is good. He is so much gooder to us than we deserve. He makes life taste good and sweet and wholesome. Even the bitter things in life become more palatable when your with Him. Plenty? Yes He has plenty! Not just a cattle on a thousand hills, or a whole universe. He has love, kindness, compassion, mercy, grace, and so much more toward us that it can not be contained. Plenty? Yes He gives us plenty He enriches our lives, provides for us, and as if that's not enough He died for us that we may have eternal abundant life with Him! Good? He is all that is Good. There is no bad or evil in Him. Plenty? He is the beginning and the end and all things are His. There is not enough words to express His goodness or His plentiful ness. Yet this wonderful awesome God loves and forgives and paid the price for me who has so little of goodness and plentiful ness in her. Yet He has promised that some day I will be like Him. The bible tells me I can be Christ like and have the mind of Christ. I believe this and every day I believe I do. I know some day it will be perfected in me when He takes me out of this candy coated shell. Like the Good and Plenty candy when you suck off  the coating you find licorice pure and simple being what it is intended to be licorice. So will I then be pure, simple, and what God intended me to be for ever.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8, Oh how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! Psalm 31:19, How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9
