How can I serve God? By obeying Him as best as I am able and doing what He sets before me each day. Be it taking care of  my home and my husband. Be it doing a job outside my home. Be it praying with, talking to or comforting a stranger or a friend. As long as what ever I do I do as unto the Lord. I am no evangelist winning thousands, I may be small potatoes, but; in God's hands I make a pretty hearty meal. 

A Servant Prayer

I offer You all of me.

To do with as You will.

Used of You is all I want to be.

Come Holy Spirit my heart fill.

I need not see to believe.

I know you use me each day.

Sometimes You do allow me to see someone receive.

The light You have shined through me along the way.

I thank You Lord that You accept this humble servant's heart.

I thank You for the Holy Spirit poured out in me.

I pray this servant's heart from me will never depart.

That I may go on joyfully serving You through all eternity. Amen

Small Potatoes

When I go to cook dinner I tell myself to cook one potato per person. So because we want to loose weight I try to pick a small one. Then when I cut them up for casseroles and other dishes I am amazed at how much potato I have! Two small cut up potatoes looks  like a lot. When it is added to other ingredients it can really fill two people up! In Christian life I have always considered myself a small potato, and at times have felt very useless. I live in a Christian community so there aren't any lost souls to witness to. I don't get out much because I am busy taking care of my home and my husband. So I don't see where I will have much of a chance to do very much for God. But today God was encouraging me. He said, "Didn't I give you that home and husband to take care of?" "Do it as unto me." "Haven't I given you a web page to right?" "You may not see who I send to read it, but as you tell your friends it is mine for my use." "What about all those skills and talents I have given you, that you use to help and comfort others with?" "What about the Christ like parts of me that I placed in you that others say they see?" "Isn't setting good examples a part of doing something for me?" "When you get a chance to talk about me don't you?" "And doesn't it help you grow?" "Well guess what it helps others grow too." The lord pointed out lots of other things I do every day that I really never think about. Like always being ready to help my friends when they call any hour day or night. And lots of other things too. All I do flows from Him and I do for Him because I love Him. I may be a small potato in my eyes but God makes my life into many useful pieces and yet keeps me whole! Wow! What an awesome God! Just doing what ever He puts in front of me to do each day is doing something for Him. Work, play, grow, and learn do it all as unto the Lord. My life is His to do with according to His good will and purpose. I never know when someone is watching. But I sure pray it is Him they see.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
