I can read all day how to be a good wife, friend, ect. but, if I
don't keep trying to apply it to my life I wont be one. Kinda like skin
care routines if I don't apply it, it won't work.
A Prayer
Thank you Lord for all your provisions.
Thank you for helping me with decisions.
Thank you for the talents you have given me.
Now one thing I ask of thee.
Lord make me as you would have me to be. Amen
My Kitchen
My kitchen is where I spend a lot of time. It's more than just a place
to cook. We eat there, my husbands computer is there, and I use the dinning
table to read and write at. It is also where I like to sit if women folk
drop by to talk. I am always ready to throw on a pot of coffee or hot water
for tea, and there are always some sort of goodies around to eat. The oven
helps keep the house warm when I'm cooking. Most the time I have something
going in the kitchen so, the potpourri is just whatever is on at the time.
In the summer I can strawberries, blackberries, peaches, pickles and salsa.
At harvest time I can apple sauces, make turnovers, pies, and dried apples.
In the winter I make christmas goodies, candied orange peels and other
such things. The kitchen is also where my husband and I do a lot of our
yaking. I love my kitchen. I thank God for the talents He has given me
there. The kitchen reminds me of God's faithfulness and blessings as I
look around and see I lack nothing. It reminds me of God's love as I look
back and think of how full my life is, and of the many talents He has blessed
me with, and all the love, laughter, and friendship that has passed through
my kitchen. My kitchen is a safety zone for me, because it keeps me busy
with no time for gossip, or idleness that leads to evil. I asked God to
be at the center of my marriage, and my home. I ask Him every day
to be with me where ever I go. I hope my kitchen is a place where friend
or stranger will come and feel at home. If anyone has a need I pray God
will provide that I may fill it.
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we shall
reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 She watches over the
ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs
31:27
