Just because I am saved doesn't mean I should neglect the care and up keep of my heart God's home. It needs daily cleaning and repair.

Home Improvement
Before winter hits I think it's a good idea to prepare ones home. A leaky roof can be an annoyance or it can be a danger, especially if it falls on your head! There is so many parts of the home to consider before winter. Are the windows drafty? If so maybe I could put up heaver curtains. Are the door areas drafty? Perhaps curtains and draft stoppers are in order. Do I have leaks in my roof, windows, or walls? I'd better get them fixed. Maybe I should have the rain gutters cleaned. Are the floors cold? Perhaps I need to get a carpet or have the insulation fixed. Have I changed the filter in the heater? My spiritual house can use improvement so I can handle winter storms too. Where are the leaks in my life that slowly eat away at my foundation? Is it anger? Bitterness? Unforgiveness? Where are the drafts in my life that chills me and others? Is it aloofness? Unkind words? A cold unsmiling face? Poor attitude? What makes my spiritual house cold? Is it lack of time spent with God, the bible, or fellowshipping. Is it lack of prayer, or praise? Is my flesh and my mind eating away at my foundation? Everything can be repaired if I take it to the Master Handyman. I know that what ever my trouble He is the master of everything. He is the Master Electrician. He can fix my light so it can shine brightly for ever. But that's another story.
The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1 Unless the Lord builds the house I labor in vain. If I am lazy my house will fall into ruin. I labor not alone but God labors with me daily, together we build and repair my house His home. Jesus is my sure foundation.
