To really have a relationship or life with God takes daily, and constant involvement.
Lord I love You All The Time
Lord I don't want you around just when times are bad.
Lord I want you around all the time.
I want you to share in my joy when I am glad.
Lord be always in my heart, in my life and on my mind.
Lord I love you when I am being chastised.
Because I know it's for my good and I trust you my God so wise.
Lord I love you when all is well.
I give love and thanks to my God who saved my soul from hell.
Doing The Dishes
I like very hot water when I wash the dishes. I like a fresh clean dish cloth each time I do dishes. I like antibacterial soap when I wash dishes. I like to make sure I dry glasses right away with a nice clean towel, so they don't get spots. What does this have to do with my walk with God? It reminds me when I am very hot (on fire for the Lord) I can't wait to tell people about my latest encounter with Jesus. When the world is very hot (pressing in on me) I need to be ready and alert. Movies, t.v., ads, and other things seem to affect how I view and think about things. These influences can be very subtle and are often not what God would approve of. So when the heat is on I have to be ready to choose God's way. When life is hot (troubled, traumatic, etcetera.) I know that it is a time of learning and testing for me and I need to be attentive to the Holy Spirit more than ever. As far as a clean wash cloth goes. I always feel it is important to be careful to check the doctrine of spiritual literature I read, spiritual people I listen to, and another spiritual arenas of my life. Jesus is my daily soap. Not soap operas which I haven't watched in years. He daily cleans away all the yuck as I bring it to Him and repent. I get dry if I don't spend time with Jesus. I need time with Him to remove all my spots. His clean fresh towel is the word of God that removes spots as I meditate on it.
How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Psalm 119:9 Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; Isaiah 1:16 and part of 17 And do not be conformed to this, world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans12:2 That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, Ephesians 4:14
