It is good to stop, examine and look to see what's truly important and to get priorities straight. This needs doing often. When I do this I must always ask God's help, because leaving it up to me got me out of whack in the first place.

Asking God For Help

Lord I come to you dazed and confused.

Everything is clamoring for my attention I need You to help me choose.

One thing I know for certain that with You first in my life.

I can always over come all the stress and strife.

But I want to walk the path as you would have me to.

That's why I seek you Lord please tell me what to do.

The world is full of chaos and so is my life too.

I need to have my priorities set straight as only you can do.

Left to my own ways I'll drown.

Help me dear Lord to stand on solid ground.

I see that You are important and I put You at the top of my list.

Now help me set the rest of  it so nothing will get missed.

What's A Mother To Do?

When I visit some of my friends with children I wonder how the Moms handle all that stress. The phone is ringing, children are tugging on them for something, the husband is calling out "honey have you seen my shoes?"; plus she is fixing dinner! When I am at home I think my home is peaceful. But when I am home, the cat is meowing to get let in and out every 15 minutes; I never have figured out why. I clean house all day and soon after hubby is home it needs it again. My phone rings in the middle of a recipe (I guess it's a Murphy's law thing) and no one answers on the other end. I make breakfast, lunch, and dinner so I am always doing dishes. There is more things that are to numerous to mention, let's just say things at home keep me busier than a birddog chasing his tail! I never seem to get everything done in a day that I want to do. Today's bible topic was priorities. Why do I stop to answer the phone every time it rings when I am home? I answer it in the middle of bible study, in the middle of dinner, do I think that who ever is calling is more important than my time with God or my husband? To set priorities I need to examine wants important. Even in the bible some people checked with God when setting priorities. I think I should too. Setting priorities could improve the quality of my life, well at least help it to run a little smoother. Setting priorities is important when I try to get organized and set up schedules so things run smoothly at home. I truly believe that not only can God help me with this but that He wants to.

You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
