Spiritual house cleaning isn't only getting rid of sin in my life. It is about getting rid of doubt, confusion, fear and other things that trouble me too. Thank You Lord for all the many times you help me clean house spiritually. Amen

My God, My Savior, My Friend

I come to You on bended knee.

I cry out to You cleanse me.

I come to You on bended knee.

I cry out to You heal me.

I come to You on bended knee.

I cry out to You free me.

I cast my cares on You.

I offer my worries and prayers to You to.

I do it knowing on You I can depend.

My God, my Savior, my friend.

I offer my praise and love to You.

I give all of me with a trusting heart to You too.

My God, my savior, my friend.

I do it knowing in You I can depend.

Time To Clean Again

September the 22nd is the first day of Autumn. For me that signals time for fall cleaning.  Cabinets and cupboards need to be cleaned and organized, inventory needs to be taken. I need to get rid of  all my pack rat stuff I gathered over summer. The entire house needs to be scrubbed organized and put back in tip top shape. I call it my nesting cycle and it usually takes me a couple of weeks. then I settle into a normal cleaning routine until right after New Years when I clean out closets. Then comes spring cleaning which is just like fall cleaning. My Christian life goes through these cycles too. I have a time when I feel like nothing is right and I go to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and we start intense work on what's troubling me. I sometimes am such a mess I don't know where to start and a lot of times I cant Identify what's wrong. Sometimes we start with the basics. Sometimes He gives me the urge to start a journal, or write down my prayers. Little by little He helps me work through the mess until I regain my peace. Then once I am in shape I go back to the routine of  learning and growing in new areas. The cleaning we just did usually is old stuff  I need to go over again either to clean it up or refresh it. This is good because by going back over old stuff  I get a little firmer as well as refreshed. There are also cleaning times like the one I mentioned around New Years. In Christian life this cleaning time is one where I know there is a problem area. I take it to God , Jesus, and The Holy Spirit and sometimes I don't know where to start on this one either. He has me start by identifying the problem verbally to Him. Then we examine each thing I identify, we talk about it and determine what needs to be done. Once the area is set to right I regain my peace and am ready to maintain that area and even add to it as I out grow some things. There are lots of  similarities between house cleaning and spiritual house cleaning that I just cant write the all here and now. Think about what's involved and you will see what I mean. Things like having a cleaning kit, Soap, and more. Spiritual cleaning kit time, repentance, prayer, bible, praise, petition, and more.

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24:3-4, Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me.  Psalm 19:12-13, How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh let me not wander from Your commandments! Psalm 119:9-10, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9, Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Matthew11:28,  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
