To be a good member in God's family keeping peace, love, harmony and unity. I must rise above my first response and submit my self to God at once. For if I do I will grow, and true love and understanding will show. Then all the world will know that we are God's children and will be until the end. To infinity and beyond. Brothers and sisters in Christ wrapped and sealed in a heavenly bond.
Christian Family Prayer
Lord we Your children are gathering in love.
Coming together as a family to give thanks to our Father above.
What a blessed thing You have done for us.
To make us a family singing in united chorus.
Filling us with love and understanding for each other.
That people will know we are yours by our love for one another.
And prayerfully that will help others know You too.
By seeing in us what Your love can do.
Please bless us as we come together each day.
Help us to stay united in peace, love and understanding along the way.
Help us to become more like You.
Compassionate, merciful, and faithful too.
Fill us with Your healing power.
Make us ready to give love, comfort, and help at any hour.
Pour out Your Spirit on us like a heavenly shower.
We give thanks to You our Father our Strong Tower.
We wait and watch for You to Come in glory and power.
Come rain on us Your heavenly anointing shower.
As we seek thee Lord in this our joyous hour. Amen
Let's Get Together
I love the movie "The Parent Trap". I like the old one better than the new one, but the new one is good too. They sing a song on the parent trap called lets get together. But I am not going to write about the song. Nor about trapping parents. We don't need to trap Father God, Jesus, or The Holy Spirit. But what I am going to write about is getting together. I am getting ready to go to a family camp with a church group. It could be any church group and as long as they love the Lord they would be my family. God has also put it in may heart to go a step further with this line of thought. Even if they don't love God yet, they are still potential family. Lots of families have what some people call the black sheep. Supposedly they are the rebels, the uncooperative, and the ones that need us the most. In Christian life they need us to show them what God is really like and what true friendship is really like and more! I need to pray for them as I demonstrate these things to them. It's harder to get a fish by clubbing it over the head, than it is if you dangle bait and gently reel them in. I don't think there will be any lost sheep at this camp but; you never know who will be watching or who you will meet. We will be at a KOA so there will probably be people outside the church group there. I am looking forward to this get together. There are so many people that I just met recently in this church family that I would love to get to know better. Also when Christians have fellowship outside the church building it is usually a little more relaxed because people aren't pressed for time. How much more relaxed can you get than camping. Relaxing atmospheres are great places to start building friendships. So when I go to camp I am going with open arms with love for my brothers and sisters, heart ready to love, accept and include anyone, and an open mind (listening ear) to what God wants to do. Also I look forward to praise and worship with them. What an exciting weekend this will be! Good food, good fellowship, good fun. The thing that will really make all this good is Christ in us revealed through us. He gives us loving, accepting hearts and right attitudes, He is at the center of our family. He is the head of our family. He brings us together and He makes us a family.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God! 1 John 3:1, I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to have a walk worthy to the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in you all. Ephesians 4:1-6
