The more I learn about God and His ways and the more I live according to His ways; the more I learn about what true love really is.

A Prayer Song Of  Thanks

Thank You each day for not giving me what I deserve.

I am not worthy of thee.

Thank You for making me deserving of what I get.

Thank You for saving me.

Thank You for my home and family.

I am not worthy of them.

Thank You for my husband.

I pray I will do right by him.

Thank you for my brothers and sisters in You.

May I show them love in all I do and say.

Thank You for each days provision too.

Yes thank You Lord  for each day.

Thank You for Your light.

Teach me to walk in Your way.

Thank You for watching over us at night.

Help me in You to stay. Amen

Love Potion

When I was a kid there was a song called, "Love potion number nine." I can't remember the words to it I just remember my older brother played it a lot. With the rate of divorce these days I wish there was a love potion to keep couples together.  It is interesting that a lot of the things that hold a man and a woman together, are also the very things that keeps a relationship with God going. Such things as always taking time to talk, working through things together, forgiveness, kindness, mercy, grace, and more. Also as a woman I like to look at my husbands picture often when he is at work. The bible is a type of picture of God. I like to think about my husband when he is at work; about something he has done for me, things about his character, things we will do in the near future. I think about what I can do for him. It is good to keep thoughts of God in my heart and mind through out the day too. It is good to stir things up in a relationship too. By trying or doing new things together, going new places, anything to get out of  a rut. Sometimes spontaneous things or unexpected things can refresh a relationship. In my walk with God it keeps me on my toes and refreshes me when God leads me in and out of these kinds of times spiritually. Keeping my husband in the right position and trusting God is important. That means that I obey my husband and he has the final say as to how things will be.  I must show my husband respect, obedience, and put him in the position of being head of the house (in charge/ with authority) it is a reflection of how I treat God. I'm not saying my husband is God, I am just saying my marriage relationship can sometimes reflect my relationship with God. Do I rebel or baulk at my husband's authority? Do I always try to have my way or take over? Am I that way towards God? I am thankful to God that He has taught me about the kind of love that goes beyond physical attraction, a love that is not based on wealth or poverty, and love strong enough to say I will wait and work this out even if I have to bend until I break. True love can last a life time with out a love potion. Because true love is created by God, taught by God, and kept by God. God is and will always be my first love. I trust God with my marriage. This is one of the reasons it is important to urge sons and daughters to marry mates who really love the Lord. Because God can give them the glue to stick together. Some of the glue He gives is true love, understanding, forgiveness, communication, humbleness, mercy, grace, respect, faithfulness and so much more!

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together let no man separate. Matthew 19:6, Wives submit to your own husbands Eph. 5:22, Husbands love your wives Eph.5:25, The husband is the head of the wife. Eph. 5:23, If your marriage needs something more to stir things up read Song Of Solomon alone or together! Be creative!
