It is good for me to make a spiritual Christmas list of what I want from God. And I don't want to forget to look in the bible and make a list of what I can give God. This list to me is kind of a review of what should be taking place every day all year long. I like to make this list it helps me focus.
Thank You Lord
Thank You Lord for all the gifts You have daily given.
Gifts of love, joy, peace, and a place in heaven.
Thank You for the gift of one closer than a brother.
Thank You for teaching us to love on another.
Thank You for being my strength and my song.
Thank You for Your guidance all day long.
Thank You for helping me resist the devil so he will flee.
Thank You for the forgiveness that You pour out on me.
Thank You for Your great provision that over flows.
Thank You for shaping the way my spirit grows.
Thank You for everything. My Father, God and King.
Thank You for my breath with which I now sing. Amen
Christmas List
Well it's that time again, when my mother in-law asks for our Christmas list. This is a very tough thing for me to come up with, because God and my husband are such great providers! So what do you think is the first thing I come up with for my list? An Apron. This is because I get messy when I make bread. Then I come up with a trivet for my Dutch oven. Then a clipboard. These are all practical things that are useful. These items wont bring glamour into my life or pamper me. My mother in-law wants more stuff on my list, but it's hard. I do have a spiritual Christmas list. That is easy and long. I want God to give me the gift of : an obedience, a servants heart, the gift of being a comforter, a peace maker, a good fisher of men, a good witness for Him, the gift of helping others see Him and know Him in a more real way, I want the gift of putting on His armor everyday, I want the gift of being more like Him each day, I want to have and live the gifts and fruits of the Spirit, I want the gift of hearing Him and Jesus and the Holy Spirit clearly, The gift of being spiritually whole. But what about Him what does He want? His word tell me some of the things He wants. If I look at my list of what I want from Him and I look in the bible at what He wants of me they seem to match up. There are some things I want to give Him that I didn't mention. Such as more love every day, I want to praise Him more each day, I want to spend more time with Him each day, I want to glorify Him every day and bring honor to him every day by how I live my life. I want my life to be a living sacrifice to him every day; a sacrifice filled with love, honor, respect, awe, and obedience. What the Lord and I want for and from each other isn't what goes on a list once a year it is on our hearts for a life time and my list grows. I have a secret list of what I want for my husband and in-laws. I want us to have love and understanding for each other every day. I want us to stay united as a family in love. I want us as a family to stay in Jesus. I want them all to know I love them, to see it and feel it in all I do and say. I want them to know that I appreciate them and respect them and thank God for them. I want to obey and serve them, pray with them and for them, and help them, and comfort them and not ever be slack in any of these things.
