How I greet God and each day, can have an effect on how my day and the day of those around me goes.

A Prayer For Today

Thank You Lord for this new day.

I celebrate my life in You.

Upon me have perfect sway.

Strengthen me to do all You would have me to. Amen

Happy New Day!

 I went to Texas with my husband for a week to spend Christmas with his family. Now I am back ready to start a new year. So Happy New Year everyone! This is a time when people have reflected on the past year and have made resolutions. You know things like I will loose weight, get organized, and other such things. But we who are in Jesus don't have to wait for the new year to resolve to better, because every day is a new beginning with Him. People celebrate, rejoice, and are happy for each new year they greet. I want to celebrate, rejoice and be happy for each new day I greet! I guess you could say this is my new years resolution. I want to give thanks for each day, celebrate the fact that I am alive in Jesus, and resolve to do better each day than the day before. I want to do this no matter what I am facing. This is a way that I will draw my strength from God for each new day. If  I wake up grumbling I might as well go back to bed, because I am setting myself up for defeat. Also I am setting up those around me for defeat too. My attitude can influence how my day and the day of those around me will go. I know their will be some days when I wont feel like thanking God for the day, I wont want to celebrate being alive, and my resolve to do better will feel weak. But I will, will myself to do it any way. Because God deserves my thanks, love, and obedience. He is my where I get my source of strength to live each day with peace, love, hope and and joy. I believe in "peace that passes understanding " that the bible talks about. It comes from God and knowing Him. I can't have anything and I can do nothing with out Him. So to me how I start each day with Him is very important. I takes a conscious effort. I cant and don't want to leave it to the whims of how I feel, or how the world makes me feel. So here's to a Happy New Day everyone!

As for me, I will call upon God, and the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice. Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be removed. Psalm 55:16-17,22  It is a good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High; to declare Your loving kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night Psalm 92:1-2, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1, Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the Lord with harp; make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy. For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He love righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Psalm 33:1-5
