God has poured out so much on me and into me; that I just want to let it go and overflow the banks of my heart. Amen

A Prayer/ Song About Mercy

Mercy is like a cloud on a hot day.

It shields people from the heat on life's highway.

Lord teach me to be merciful like You.

Help me to show mercy no matter what others may do.

Fill me with Your sweet goodness and graciousness too.

I want to be refreshing as the morning dew.

I want to help others just as You do.

O please use me in the heat of the day.

Make me a merciful breeze, send me someone's way. Amen

Mercy Me!

"Mercy me!" and "Goodness gracious!" were some pretty cute exclamations you would hear out of the mouths of little old ladies. I still think they are cute. I prefer them to many exclamations that come from some people today. The words mercy, goodness, and gracious took on a new light for me one day. It was during the summer and my husband and I were camping, and it was very hot. Suddenly some clouds rolled across the sun and my husband said, "Do you know what I call clouds? Mercy." It is so true on a hot day God is good, gracious, and merciful to send us clouds and cool breezes. I must remember to thank Him the next time I am hot and He does that for me. You know in this world we live in sometimes spiritually and emotionally we it gets pretty sweltering. Especially when it seems like we are in the furnace. Getting purified, having our chaff burned away, or being heated up so we can be shaped like they do with steel. Or at times when we feel like we are in a spiritual desert. During these times God can use me to be a cloud of mercy; by giving me ways to help others. Or He may send me as a merciful breeze, by giving me words of comfort or words of refreshing, or even words to make one laugh. God can fill me with mercy, goodness, graciousness, and more! If  I ask Him and are willing do something with it and not just let it gather dust. I don't believe it is right for me to ask God for things like that if I am not willing to obey Him in it. If  I ask Him to make me more merciful, good, or gracious I should obey Him in it. Even if what He gives me to do with it seems silly or strange to me.

He has shown you O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
