Feeling ill? Jesus has the relief and cure for all that ails us.

A Prayer For Spiritual Healing

Lord in my spirit I feel ill.

I know this is a sign I am out of Your will.

Forgive me my sins and for straying away.

Fill me once again with Your Spirit I pray.

For I have peace when I walk according to Your will.

But I have no strength if this vessel You do not fill. Amen

Disease

Disease, if  you separate the word like this dis ease it means not at ease. I have a cold and let me tell you I am certainly not at ease. Other people have more serious illnesses; and I am suffering nowhere near as great as they are.  I can take medicine that will relieve the symptoms for a little while, but it wont cure the disease. I have found something similar in my walk with Jesus. When ever I do wrong no matter how big or small the sin I feel not at ease (diseased). There is only one way to relieve my symptoms and that is to take it to Jesus. Going to Him and confessing my wrong and repenting that's the medicine I need. I wont call it the cure because I will always fall short. But I no longer have a fatal disease. Jesus cured me when I accepted Him. (Passed from death to life John 3:16) People who don't know or wont accept Jesus has an illness that can be fatal. (The wages of sin is death Romans 6:23) There suffering is much greater than mine because at this point they have no where to turn and no hope. Or at least that is how they perceive the situation. So if anything really scary happens they may go to church, or pray to God, or call on Him for a second. But, when their walk with God gets rough they fall away. This is because they did something that only relieved the symptoms for a little while. They need the cure, and there is a cure for their fatal disease. They need to whole heartedly accept Jesus and stick with Him, cling to Him. Are you feeling diseased (not at ease, lack peace)? Are you diseased (got that fatal illness I mentioned)? No matter what is causing our spiritual discomfort Jesus has the cure and relief for me and you. But like with all medicine and cures, we can't have it if  we don't partake of it. For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1;9-14
