You can only give what you have. You can only have what you can attain. You can only attain what you earn or is given to you as a gift or you find. Study to earn, pray for a gift, seek to find God. Then you will have plenty to give.

A Firm Grip Prayer

I want to know You more every day.

in every way.

I want to stand strong and sure.

Holding on to You forever more.

Let there not be any doubt in me.

Make all my words and deeds firm in thee.

Help me to know that I know.

That I may sow as You would have me to sow.

O Lord help me grow strong in You, the faith, and in truth.

That I may strengthen the old and encourage the youth. Amen

Apart At The Seams

Once one of the three stooges  pulled and pulled at a thread, and it caused a whole suit to come apart at the seams. I have pulled threads and had a seem come undone too. Does this make me a stooge? No. Because I have learned two things from pulling threads. One don't pull clip them, and two if  I see a loose thread I need to sew the seam as soon as I can to reinforce it. But I don't want to be a stooge about my spiritual seams either. Even though I don't pull on my spiritual threads, others do. What I mean by this is that people say things that test what I believe and think I know all the time. I have had people quickly and to my shame easily unravel my spiritual seams. But I am now no longer the stooge I use to be, because I have learned from these situations. I have learned that if you don't own what you believe, don't toss it (your thread) out for some one to pull on. If  you notice that your spiritual seam is weak, reinforce it with prayer and bible study. People love to pull on the Trinity thread, the second coming thread, some parts of the salvation thread ( related to destiny and once saved always saved), and many, many more threads. Some are very important threads that can cause one to come totally unraveled, and others are minor ones that produces a little hole. The vital threads when pulled can cause doubts and frustration and back sliding. The minor ones can cause confusion and misunderstanding and mistakes. That's why I firmly believe that every day I need bible study and prayer to strengthen my seams. But I also firmly believe that church is an important part of strengthening my seams too. Because I need the pastor and elders to make sure my thread is good and strong. By this I mean they help me make sure that I don't misunderstand God's word and get it twisted. Which would produce a weak thread that some one would sooner or later spot and pull on. 

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:12-17
