I take three steps forward and six steps back. Or is it six steps forward
and three steps back. Either way I belong to God He didn't give up on me.
I wont give up on His plan for me either. All I know is my goal is to be
like Him, to help others know Him in a more real way. And to be His trophy.
My Best
Lord sometimes I get weary and worn.
sometimes I get beaten down.
Yet I know from your loving hands I'll never be torn.
I know in you I will always be found.
I give thanks for your love that lifts me up.
I give thanks for the strength of your healing touch.
I give thanks for the cross and the cup.
I give thanks for you loving me that much.
So Lord help me to run the race as best as I can.
Someday as your trophy please let me stand.
And as you hold up the trophy may your words be.
This one loved me and ran their best for me.
Football
My husband took me to see a football game here at the school. I am not
one of those who gets into watching sports. However it was very intense.
Our team would go towards their goal a ways then they would be moved back
the other way. It was a real battle! It got really intense near the end
because the scores were close and time was running out. I think I saw a
couple of miracles in the last few minutes of the game. Sometimes I feel
like I am playing football in my spiritual life. I take a good biblical
principle apply it to my life and start running with it toward heaven.
Then wham! I get knocked down in some other area of my life. I get up and
sometimes see that I have made some progress and I start again from there.
Sometimes I get up and find I've taken a few steps back. So I have to start
from there. Sometimes I have to have a long talk with my coach (Jesus)
about how to handle the new stuff. Sometimes I get hurt and the Great Physician
has to come patch me up. I can't allow the steps back to get to me though.
There is always hope that the next time I will get further. My goal of
being God's trophy and being with Him forever is so priceless to me, that
I just can't let steps back cause me to give up no matter how far a set
back. I am so glad that God, angels, family and friends are cheering
me on. I am so glad that I am on God's team. It's great when I see christian
brothers and sisters working together. I am so glad for God's game plan
the bible. It has lots of strategy on how to play against the opposition.
Opposition: gossip, satan, fear, anything that is not of God. I am on the
winning team! I can be a winner! By the way our school team won!
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God
in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 Fight the good fight of faith,
lay hold on eternal life, to which you were called... part of 1 Timothy
6:12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud
of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily
ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before
us.
