A Soldier's Prayer
I pray Your kingdom come today.
I pray Your will be done on earth as in heaven in every way.
Here I am Lord at Your command.
Equip me and train me empower me so I can stand.
Give me courage to fight the good fight.
Give me wisdom that I may fight right.
Fill me with what to say.
As through out the day I pray.
Lead me in what to do.
As I commit and submit my life to You.
Put me where ever You can use me the most.
I pray to bring You glory and honor O Lord of Host.
God's Got An Army
Recently learned a lesson about faith. If I just throw my hands up and say "God knows what is going on and He will work it out." Is not faith it is a cop out. Faith is when I say "God knows what is going on and I believe He can, will, and wants to do something about it." Still this is not faith until I put the I believe part into action and go pray. I need to pray about what I believe He can, will, and wants to do. Now my statement is filled with faith. There is a big spiritual battle ground and this is my view of God's army. God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, are the Highest Ranking officer there is, there is none higher. They in turn equip, prepare, empower, and train us for battle. Just as a worldly army has different branches such as army, navy, air force, and marines; so does God's army have different branches. It also has different levels of leadership and so forth like a worldly army. Also just like a worldly army there is battle strategy, plans, what have you. God doesn't put all His fighting men and women in one spot; because that would leave a weak spot or an opening. This is why some people get more stirred up and pray more intently about different things. Some pray more intently about our country because God has put it on their heart, they have a better vision, and understanding of the situation. Some pray more intently for the lost, the needy, and so forth. This doesn't mean that we all shouldn't pray about all these things. It just means that When we pray it should be with a sincere heart. Not just because someone says you should or it's the hot topic, or so you can look like a wonderful person in someone's eyes. I believe it is very beneficial to pray in groups because, those who do have the better vision and understanding of a situation can inspire and open you up for prayer in that area. Unity and agreement in God's family, and in prayer is very powerful and important. The battle really does belong to the Lord, but we are also to be involved in that battle. He gives us the weapons with which to fight. Such as prayer, faith, the Cross and more. He Give us the strategy. Such as resist the devil, love one another, and more. He gives us all we need to fight well. We even have a supply depot Him and the bible. But as I was saying He leaves no area of the battle ground uncovered at any given time. What area are you stationed in today soldier (my brother, my sister)? Oh and before I forget He also uses us as medics at any given time and cooks who feed the army. He trains us for that too.
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he does not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 1 Timothy 2:4-5
