Every year God gives me the same gift, and I can never wait to open it! I get so excited! It never looks the same! It always seems new!

A Waiting Prayer

Lord I have cast aside all I think I know.

I have left behind who I think I am also.

I am about as empty as I can be.

And here I breathlessly wait to be filled by thee!

Help my eyes to behold You.

Help my heart to hear and make me new.

I am about as empty as I can be.

And here I breathlessly wait to be filled by thee! Amen

Unwrap It

No one has to tell me to "go ahead and unwrap it." I am like a child I love unwrapping presents! I rip off the paper as fast as I can! Well some times I am careful and save the paper. There is one special present that I have unwrapped that means everything to me. And every year when I unwrap it, it seems as new as the first time. Watch as I un wrap this gift. If  Santa canceled Christmas it would still come; because it is not about him. If  we were to poor to get a tree and decorate it Christmas would still be beautiful; because it's not about that. If  I was unable to bake and cook feast Christmas would still come; because it is more than food or drink. If we were to poor to get presents and couldn't make any Christmas would still come; because it brings a wonderful gift that keeps on giving for ever. Oh look at what I un wrapped! It is God's gift A Relationship His Son! And contained in His Son Jesus is love, joy, peace, salvation, and more! I know I will enjoy this gift all year and forever! Just as I know I will enjoy the gift of His word the bible, and the Holy Spirit! Sure I have Jesus, the bible and Holy Spirit every day, but I unwrap them every Christmas to take a refreshing look at them and to give special thanks for them. I try to empty myself  starting December first of all I think I know, am, and have. Then I start waiting expectantly for God to give me that refreshing. Ah refreshing that's another wonderful gift from God! I have unwrapped this present and once found a cross in a manger. Another time I found a manger at the cross. I once found that if Christmas as the world knows it' was canceled it would still come. I never know what I will find. But I am always excited and can't wait to unwrap it!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:7-11,
