I want to be a cheerful giver and a wise taker.

A Prayer About Give And Take

Take this heart and give me Yours.

Use me in a great way or let me just sweep floors.

My life I give to You My Lord I trust in You I have no doubt.

My Life is Yours to erase, or use, or for others to be poured out.

Give me strength to do Your will.

Great strength that can be see from a hill or quiet strength while on my knees being still.

Take all that I am let me hold nothing back.

Use me to help someone or fill a need where there is lack. Amen

Give And Take

I have often heard the phrase, "Give or take a few minutes, ounces, etcetera". Today I was thinking how giving or taking a few of anything can through things off balance. Like if  I give little of myself and take a lot of someone else's time and emotion, our relationship would be off balance and fall apart. This made me think that I shouldn't run blindly through life giving and taking I should slow down and look things over first. Like if  I gave a child all the answers it wouldn't help him or her learn. Or if  I take on too many things and do them poorly or become cranky all the time that's not good either. There is so much give and take in life, in so many forms, and areas. How and what I give and how and what I take is important; because I am not on this planet alone. What I do and say and how I reacts affects someone in some way. It is good for me to slow down and pick and choose how and what I give and take. In some cases it is better not to give or take. Such as it is wrong to steal. To steal is to take or rob someone. That happens when you take away their joy or peace because you are angry or just don't have any your self. It is better not to give until your so depleted that your of no use to anyone. I never paid much attention to give and take before, but maybe now I will. Before you read this next line think about emotions, time, energy, money, possessions,  and self; then apply it to these next two lines. Because if  I only take and don't give eventually there would be nothing left to take. But also if  I only give and don't take eventually I wont have anything to give.

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Times in the bible when taking was beneficial or good When You take up the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. Ephesians 6:16, When Jesus took away the sins of the world. John 1:29 Jesus set great examples in give and take and had a lot to say about it. He gave love, hope, help, and more. He took away sorrow, sickness, ignorance, and more. He is still teaching me about give and take.
