How I look (appearance) can be affected by How I look (sight).

A Prayer To See As God Sees

Lord purify my heart and my mind.

Give me one like thyne.

Help me to see as You do.

Help me to love others just like You.

Lord fill me with compassion for the lost.

Make me willing to reach them no matter what the cost.

Help me to treat my brothers and sisters rightly too.

Please make me more like You. Amen

How Do I Look

I have read many a time about beauty coming from with in. Also I have heard people say, just putting a smile on your face can improve your looks. I like everyone else want to make a good impression. But I am finding that how I look at others is part of that too. If  I look at someone in church doing a special job and covet, envy, or get jealous of there position or them it shows. It shows not only in the expression on my face, but also in the things I say and do. Also if  I feel inadequate, low, or useless because of someone's position or treatment it shows. It shows in on my face, and in what I do and say. One thing I am learning is there is a right and wrong way to look at people. I must not compare myself to others. As I look at others, I must not allow negative thoughts towards them to grow. I must pray daily for God to help me see rightly. I should think about 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 it is about love and I am sure that that is how God would have me view people. Looking at people the wrong way leads to bitterness, gossip, and ungodly thoughts. I must never for get where my gifts and talents come from. 1 Corinthians 12: 1-31 Has a lot to say about where my gifts come from and, how I should look upon others and their gifts. How I look has more to do with how I live in Jesus, than how I ware my hair or other out ward things. 1 Peter 3:3-4 But it is not only how I look at my brothers and sisters that I should be concerned about. I should be careful how I look at unbelievers too. As an imitator of Jesus I should view them with compassion. Matthew 9:36-38, Jude 20-23
