Lord give me an awareness of what needs nipping in the bud. Then please give me wisdom and strength to nip it. Amen

Asking For Guidance And Help

Lord show me each day Your ways.

Lord guide me in my prayers and help me not to stray.

I need Your guidance, Your strength and Your power.

I need You every minute of every hour.

Make me aware of what is not of You.

Give me wisdom and strength to do as You would have me do.

I know I am weak, but also that You are strong.

I submit myself to You please deliver me from all wrong. Amen

Nip It In The Bud

As Barney Fife of  Mayberry would say, "Nip it, nip it, nip it in the bud." By this he meant stop the situation before it goes any further. In garden terms it means sort of the same thing, it means to snip the bud so that particular branch won't grow. But this usually causes the plant to bush out in other places. Which is what you want. So if you nip a situation in the bud that should get things going back in the right directions you want things to go. Sometimes nipping things in the bud has to start with me. Like when my words could cause an argument, I have to keep my mouth shut. Or when someone says something to me which makes me want to retaliate with words. I must keep my mouth shut.  (Nipping arguments in the bud) Or like when someone confides in me about themselves or a matter. Or if  I hear something about someone. I must not repeat it. (Nipping gossip in the bud) Also when someone in authority over me tells me to do something, that does not go against the two great commands (love God with all your being and all your might and your neighbor as yourself). I must do it with out complaining, even if I don't feel like it, and I must not hesitate to do what I am told to do. Even and especially if it is my husband telling me to do it. Lord knows that I sometimes fail in this one and I am sorry. (Nipping rebellion in the bud) Also through out the day thoughts come some good some bad. I have to weed these thoughts and nip the bad ones in the bud right away. Also I must repent of wrong thoughts, deeds, and words quickly. (Nipping sin in the bud) There are many things in life that need nipping in the bud. There are two natures at war in me, my Christ like nature that God is developing and my sin nature that I am daily trying to get rid of. The sin nature is what causes all these areas that need to be nipped in the bud. My Christ like nature makes me aware of  these things that need nipping. But it is Jesus Himself that gives me the wisdom and strength to nip things in the bud. This is where I am learning what needs nipping in the bud and how to nip things in the bud.

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my mediation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up. Psalm 5:1-3 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from my secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me... Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:12-14
