I want to and need to own what I know about God and what I believe.

Keep Close

Lord keep me here,

at Your feet, make things clear.

Help me know You,

that I may help others to know You too.

Teach me Your word Lord and Your way.

So that I may not stray.

Draw me close Lord so that I can hear Your heart.

In times of trouble let me know we are not far apart.

I know the closer I stay to You.

The more I can learn to do as You do.

So keep me here by Your side.

Draw me so close that in You I can hide.

Lord don't let me stray away.

But use me to draw others to You today. Amen

Radio Shack

Radio Shack has a saying, "You have questions, we have answers." Of course they don't have all the answers to all the questions in the world. But they do have answers to questions about the things that their store sells. If they have someone who has really studied the products they sell, or have worked with things that pertain to their product. Then they have someone with a lot more answers than someone who has neither studied or us things that pertain to their product. So when a customer comes and gets someone who knows nothing, the customer gets pretty frustrated. When the customer gets someone who is knowledgeable about the product the customer goes away happy. And the customer may go away a little wiser. This is the way it is with me too as a Christian. The more I know about Jesus and God's word, the better I am able to help someone. Also if  I don't really know Jesus or God's word I could really frustrate people. When I don't know Jesus and God's word very well I give the impression of my belief just being another fad. It also makes me unable to give a very good demonstration of  what it is like to have God in my life. Or what He does. A person working at Radio Shack can't vouch for the integrity of a product if he has had no personal experience with it. I can't fully express the integrity of  God to someone if  I don't have personal experience either. A Radio Shack employee can't point out the features or benefits of a product if he hasn't used it or studied it. I can't point out the features or benefits of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit or prayer if I don't study or experience them. So I am learning to own what I know. So I will be ready at all times with an answer for what people need and what I believe and why.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. Timothy 4:1-5
