Get Well

I am dedicating this web page to a young lady who is very ill. I looked into those sweet eyes and wondered, "What can I say to comfort her, or help her, or encourage her?" Like a fool I said something funny to make her laugh. Here is what I really want to say to her. Natalie I love you very much. I am more happy than you know, to know that you have accepted Jesus. I  pray for you every day. You already have Jesus, so the the only other thing I can offer you besides my love, is a scripture that I cling to in tough times. I hope someone will remind me of this scripture when the road of life gets so dark that I forget these words. Psalm 63 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My flesh longs for you; in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. This is usually how I feel in my darkest hour: like I am just aching for a sip from Jesus' well. And I know if  I seek Him I will find Him and get that sip. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. I also know that church isn't the only place where I can see God. We are His temple. I can look back and see Him at different times in my life. And when I look around or ahead I see Him there too. Because Your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. I also know I can trust in God to not give me more than I can bear. For just when it seems I can bear no more He surrounds me with people who love me, He gives me doctors and others to help me. And in Him and exhaustion I get sleep and rest. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. Nothing satisfies me like my relationship with Jesus. Nothing satisfies like Jesus. He gives me peace even when people can see no reason for me to have peace. It's that peace that passes understanding. That makes me able to sing songs (Hymns) even in the midst of  pain, sorrow, and suffering. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Even when I cant sleep thinking about God and talking to Him brings me comfort. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice. God has never left me or let me down. Sure I have been disappointed; only to discover later that God knew what was best for me and did it. My soul follows close behind You and Your right hand up holds me. I have learned the closer I stick to God and the more I obey Him the better off  I am. But those who seek my life, to destroy it, shall fall by the sword; they shall be portions for the jackals. Satan and people who are out to do me harm or destroy me better run! For greater is God who loves me and is in me than anyone! Or anything! But the king shall rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him shall glory; No matter if  I am a worm or a king; everyone who accepts God, obeys God,  believes God, and trusts in God is a winner! But the mouth of those who speaks lies shall be stopped. Like the devil when he says, "your no good, your not going to make it, you won't go to heaven." And people who speak bad stuff to me or about me. The devil and them are not only losers, but God is going to kick their butts!
