The battle may be tough but we don't fight alone.

A Battle Song

The battle belongs to the Lord.

He gives us each His sword.

He is the captain of the Host.

Empowers us with the Holy Ghost.

He unites us in Him.

To help each other when our strength grows dim.

He equips us in every way.

And by our sides He does stay.

And as His army we will see,

God in all His glory in victory!

Wild Blue Yonder

"Here we go off into the wild blue yonder." That is about all I know of the line of this song. I think it is part of an air force song. To me it speaks of  going off into the unknown. Which many young men in the air force did in times of war. They never knew where they attackers were going to come from, until fired upon. They never knew if they would survive the battle. They did know their target, or mission. They did know that they had a squad of  team mates to help them fight. But they didn't know if  or when a team mate would be taken out. It could even be a gunner in their own plane who gets taken out! Sometimes they had to jump and depend on their parachutes for escape; and then only to be caught by the enemy. They had to at that point hope that they would be rescued by another branch of  the service; the army, navy, or marines. Sometimes I really relate to them. I feel spiritually there are plenty of unknowns in my life. Every day I have to go out there and face them. I never know where my spiritual attacker or attackers will come from; until I am attacked. I am never really sure of  how well I will survive my spiritual battles. I do know that my target or mission is to resist the devil and bring others to Jesus. I do know I have a church family to help me fight the battle against evil, and to help me bring others to Jesus. They are my brothers and sisters and team mates. I never know when one of my team mates will be taken out via death or spiritual backsliding. It could even be someone in my own house that gets taken out! Like my husband! Sometimes my only escape from the evil one, and evil its self is to flee. It is like jumping with a parachute. The Holy spirit is the parachute and I must depend on Him. Sometimes even after the Holy spirit gets me safely through I run right smack into the enemy. Then I have to hope that some branch of God's army will rescue me. Such as Christian friends (army) I run into every day, or even Christian strangers (navy) He sends to help me, Or my church family (marines). Even He, Himself  comes to rescue me! Yes the battles may be rough but, I am not fighting it alone. There are a lot of unknowns but, I trust the one in command.

Like David said, "For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?" 1 Samuel 17:26, also "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of host, the God of the armies of  Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand." 1 Samuel 17:45-46 and "Then all this assembly will know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands. 1 Samuel 17:47 (notice he said into our hands.)
