When I go to church what do I go to see? Jesus, God, The Holy Spirit and my spiritual Family. When I go to church what do I go to hear? God's voice, His messenger of choice, and Praise for Him whom we love so dear.

Jesus Is All Around

I look and I see Jesus all around.

I see Him in a baby's smile.

I see Him as the sparrow feeds on the ground.

I see Him in those that go that extra mile.

I listen and I hear Jesus all around.

I hear Him in a laughing child.

I hear Him as choir voices resound.

I hear Him in words spoken meek and mild.

I feel the touch of Jesus all around.

I feel Him as someone takes my hand. 

I feel Him as their loving arms go round.

I feel Him as others with me stand.

Come And See

The phrase "Come and see" can us many places. Like "hurry, hurry, step right up and see the bearded lady." Can lead me to look at an oddity of nature. Or "Come see what I got for Christmas!" As a child lead me to rejoice with my friend, and led me to want. "Come and see the baby." Always leads me to tears of awe and wonder. But today I was thinking about when Jesus said of John the Baptist, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. For this is he of whom it is written: Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You." Matthew 11:7-10 It makes me ask what do people go to see when they go to church. The latest fashion, friends, gossips, a circus perhaps? When they come are they coming because they are curious, or really seeking something? What do they expect to find? Well from my own experience the first time I came on my own ( with out my parents making me go) I was seeking something. I wasn't really sure what that something was. When I came I saw two people with microphones singing and heard can music in the background. I said, "Oh no television type church." So I left and didn't go for a long time. Finally God got me to where I really needed Him and I knew I needed Him. So I went back and even to that same church! And I found Jesus and got saved! My husband got saved there too! The Foursquare church magazine did an article on us. Then A person came to church to see the alcoholics and drug addicts who got saved and married.  What did they come to see a couple of  freaks a circus. Well guess what they saw two people clean whole and in their right minds! They saw Jesus and His love and power! But not only that! Our church has been blessed with some wonderful messengers of God!
