I need God for all things, in all ways, and always. I love God and I need to trust Him for all things, in all ways and always.

Lord Help Me Build

Lord I long to know you more face to face,

I long to build you a special place,

In my home, life, church, and heart.

Show me O Lord where and how to start.

As always I start on my knees coming to you in prayer.

With respect I ask please be with me everywhere.

Help me to hear your voice,

Guide me when I make a choice.

Help me to know your will.

With your Spirit Lord my heart fill.

I know this prayer is a good way to start,

Building Your place in my heart.

Still I know I need Your guiding hand,

For if  I build it alone it wont stand.

Name That Tune

When I first became a Christian I thought that all I would hear was old hymns like "Old Rugged Cross". Which by the way I do love, I learned that one when I was a child. But to my surprise I heard a song one day, that I thought was done by a secular rock group only to find it was a Christian rock group. The tune was a little different and the words were very different! Today I enjoy old hymns, Christian rock, Christian jazz, and other Christian styles. I myself take old songs that I use to like and put Christian words to the. Different styles of music cause different reactions and moods in me. Some styles are great to do house work by, some are good for exercise, hymns lift my mood when I am down. Each style has different names like jazz, rock, classical, and others. Every song has a name that tells a little about the song, and from some songs you can learn a little about the person who wrote it. God has many names. His names tell a lot about who He is. His names tells a lot about what He does. His names even tells a little about who I am and about my relationship to God. I think from now on when I hear one of the many names of God I will stop and meditate on it. Who knows if  I do I might just get surprised by what I discover or maybe by what God will do through my taking the time to think on His many names. Who knows what I may learn from this!

Some of my favorites are Strong Tower, High Priest, Intercessor, Immanuel, Wonderful Counselor.  There are many more names of God and each one gives hope, joy, peace, rest. They also show power, authority, majesty, and more.
