I really am running a race. Now the question is who or what hinders me from running this race at my best? And what will I do to run better and better everyday?

A Prayer To Be Obedient

Lord here I am ready and willing to obey.

Lord give me wisdom and strength to not let anything get in the way.

Make me swift to do your will always.

For I love you Lord and I will trust you Lord all my days.

There is nothing that I can't do if  You tell me to.

There is no place I cant go if you send me.

Don't let my pride keep me from obeying you.

Lord fashion me into the vessel You would have me to be.

Cleanse me purify me and send me.

Fill me so that You are all others will see.

O Lord cause me your good and faithful servant be.

Just Do It

Well I am back to exercising, and like Nike says I had to just do it. When I was a child in school I was pretty good about doing what I was told with out question, and most of the time at home too. When I left home I was still pretty much doing whatever people told me to. Sometimes this was a bad thing, because a lot of the time I had bad counsel. Here I am today praying O God help me to obey You with out hesitation or question. I pray this because I know I can trust Him. I learned from Moses dealing with pharaoh not to go by what I see but by faith and trust in God. At first the things that God told Moses to do made things hard for the people but in the end, God not only delivered them He had them leave with plenty of everything. So when God tells me to do something I don't want to hesitate I want to just do it. How can I know it is God? I can know it is God by checking against the two great commands, loving God above all and with all my being and loving my neighbor as myself. Also I learned from Moses even if  I lack faith in my ability to do what God says, I should not lack faith in God's ability to make me able to do what He tells me. If Moses had trusted God to make him able to speak eloquently he would not have had to let Aaron speak for him. So I see my trust and faith in God is a big key to immediate obedience to God. Also I must watch out for pride. If  I care about what others may think that too can slow me down. I also love God so I don't want to just do it, I want to obey Him quickly and gladly because I love and trust Him.

So Samuel said: "Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams, 1 Samuel 15:22 So the Lord said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I the Lord? " Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what to say." Exodus 4:11-12 God works all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Example read about Joseph in Genesis 50:20
