Names can have such an affect on life and in life. What I like being called best is His.
Lord You Are My All In All
Lord All Mighty there is none above thee.
Holy Spirit who guides me.
Father God in whom I am blessed.
Jesus Christ in whom is my salvation and rest.
You have given me so many wonderful names to call you by.
Names that bring peace, hope, and help when I cry.
All Your names show Your love and care.
All Your names let's me know Your always there.
Like a warm blanket, and a strong shield you cover me.
There is none like You O God and there never will be.
Thank You for all You have given and done for me.
The Name Game?
The one night at church some of us was talking about what our names mean. As my brothers and sister told what there names meant, I felt a little sad. They all seemed to have names that had some spiritual connection. My name doesn't seem to have any, mine means "of the woods". It fits me though because I love being in the woods, walking or camping, and I talk to the Lord a lot when I am there. So I guess some times names can affect who people are. When I was young I remember children teasing each other about their names. Some times that can really hurt. Some times children make up names for others like fatty, because some one is fat or because it rhymes with the persons name. This too can hurt and the affect can last a long time. As I got older I noticed that people in love game each other pet names, like sweetie pie. Pet names given from affectionate hearts make people giggle and feel good. Today I cringe when I hear God's name used in vain because it hurts. God has lots of wonderful names in the bible that displays who He is, and what He does, and then some. He has names that inspire respect, awe, majesty. He has names that remind me that He is my savior, friend, helper, guide, my hero, and more. In His name there is power to push back darkness, to receive healing and strength. In His name is hope, life, comfort and peace. No matter what I see, how I feel, where I am, or what's going on God has a name that I can call upon for what ever I need. He is only a name away from me when I am lonely, hurting, and afraid. He is only a name away when I need to sing for joy because I am over flowing with love. He really does never leave me or for sake me. I love speaking His names here are a few Father, Jesus, Comforter, Redeemer, Healer, King, Lord, Emmanuel, I Am, and there are many more.
