I ask not what I can do for God. I ask what does God want to do through me? I know what I can do for God. I can seek His will, I can get out of  His way, and let Him do His will through me.

Prayer Of A Servant

I bow my heart, my will, my all,

To You O Lord as I hear you call.

I fall before you and am still,

As I listen for Your will.

I long to be Your servant and obey.

I am but Your vessel made of clay.

Fill me and use me as You will.

Help me to wait and be still.

I don't want to move unless You tell me to.

I want everything I do to be the work of You.

This I pray whole heartedly.

That others will see You not me.

Full Steam Ahead?

I like watching some movies that have ships in them. The part I usually like is the exciting intense part where the captain says "Full steam ahead !" The ship then takes off at a very fast clip and the part of that, that I like is to sea the wake on both sides of the ship as it cuts through the water. To get the ship to go full steam the crew have to obey there captains orders and do the part they were trained or equipped to do. I believe God has a plan for my life and would like me to go full steam ahead. He has equipped me with the Holy Spirit and trained me through His word, and a mighty fine Pastor. So for a long time I felt I was given some power and authority to move along at a good clip with God's plan for my life. I sort of said to myself  I have power, and authority alright! Now I am going to step out and do this, that, and the other for God ! It seemed every time I would go to do something for God I would soon stumble, weaken, and eventually quit. Today I learned why. God didn't equip and and train me so I could run ahead and do things for Him. He equipped and trained me so He could do things through me. I am His vessel. I need to continue to receive His equipping (daily receiving the Holy Spirit). I need to receive His training by praying, listening to my Pastor, studying His word. But also I Must Seek Him And His Will Daily And Obey Him. He must be in control not me, not my mind, not my flesh. This shows me that I need A closer relationship with the Holy Spirit than I ever imagined. I can't live and obey God with out constant guidance from the Holy Spirit. So now when God says "Full steam ahead" I am going to seek Him and His will, and turn to the Holy Spirit for instruction. I am not going to try to guess at what God wants, Nor will I move on until I find out what it is that He wants. I think I have a lot of waiting and seeking ahead in my life. I will be doing a lot too, but not really me doing it will be Him doing through me.

Do not be afraid, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. part of Exodus 14:13 Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6  We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand  that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
