I want to turn off the dark and turn on the light. By over coming sin and ungodliness in my life I do that.  

Light

Jesus I know You live in me.

I want all things under Your feet where they should be.

Help me see when I start to stray out of Your light.

Help me to fight the good fight.

Help me keep my mind on things above.

I long to be a blessing and a joy to You whom I love.

Help me to choose Your will and Your way.

Help me in Your light to stay.

Rise Above It

We recently took a trip in an airplane. When we took off it was cloudy and rainy, as we got above the clouds it grew sunny. How strange to think beneath me was fowl weather yet here I sat in a sunny place. It got me to thinking about Jesus putting all His enemies under His feet. If Jesus is in me He should be able to put all His enemies under our feet. He lives in me my feet are His. The enemies I am talking about here is all sin, and all appearances of ungodliness. These are His enemies and mine. This means I must rise above it. When I rise above sin and ungodliness I find that I have gone from darkness into light. When I have sin or ungodliness in my life, my thoughts are sad, depressed, bitter, and just plain old dark. When I rise above that by thinking on things that are good and godly, my thoughts are happy, loving, peaceful, and full of truth and light. To rise above sin and ungodliness which I will call the dark. I have to be aware that I am moving into the dark. When I realize I am moving into the dark I have to identify the dark I am moving into. Then I can repent, pray, change my thoughts, cry out to God for help to get back into the light. When I choose God and what He would have me to do, then He brings me out of the dark and  into His light. To me this is a form of putting Jesus enemies under His feet. This isn't all His enemies these are just the ones in my life that I can have a whack at. I know He has others that I probably don't even know exist. But as He reveals to me the ones I can put under His feet I will do so with all my might.

For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 1 Corinthians 15:25,  Abstain from every form of evil. 1Thessalonians 5:22, And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2, Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7, Nor give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27, These scriptures are a few ways of rising above the dark the bible has many, many more.
