I would rather look around for some who needs a lift and give them one; than sit in my own need going no where.

Lifts

Lord You lift me up when I am down.

You lift me up when evil is all around.

Your hand always has a grip on me.

Your strong arms hold me close to thee.

I am so thankful for all You do.

I am so glad I can trust and depend in one so faithful and true.

You've given me a heart that is full of love for others.

Please Lord use me to Lift up my sisters and my brothers.

Need A Lift

So many times at the bus stop friends have asked me if  I needed a lift into town. I am always grateful for those rides.  Sometimes when I am waiting for the bus I am so deep in thought; that I am not smiling and my friends think I am having a bad day and, sometimes I am having a rough day. I guess at those times I need a face lift and /or a spirit lift. We usually fellowship and by the time I get out of their car I usually am smiling. I am grateful for the emotional and spiritual lifts I get from my husband, church, especially from The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I get a lift from the bible, and singing to the Lord too. But some of the best lifts have come when I have lifted someone else. I have found when I am sad, depressed, down, tired, or whatever that makes me in need of a lift; if  I just get my eyes off me and onto Jesus and others everything gets brighter. This works when I need to be lifted out of a sour mood, temptation, and other things too. If  I  just turn my eyes upon Jesus and seek to do good unto others I get a lift out of the yuck. I could go on forever about how God has lifted me out of the muck and mire. Because of  my love for God and the love that God has put in my heart for others, I too want to give someone a lift. Lifts come in many forms such as: a smile, kind word, hug, an act of kindness or thoughtfulness, talking about Jesus, praising and / or praying together, lending a helping hand. It's wonderful to know that I can depend on God to lift me out of whatever; so He can use me to give someone else a lift.

Bear one another's burdens Galatians 6:2, Let us not grow weary of doing good Galatians 6:9, A merry heart does good like a medicine Proverbs 17:22, Your the glory and the lifter of my head Psalm 3:3 He brought me up out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon the rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth-- praise to God: many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:2-3.
