I want to run the race where I can see and hear Jesus as He leads me. I want to stay ahead of the devil. Most of all I want to win in a way that brings glory and honor to My Lord and Savior Jesus. Amen
A View Of The Race
I am pursuing You Lord with all my might.
Listening to all You say keeping all You do in my sight.
I know the devil is coming up behind me as I take flight.
I know if I stay with You I need not be full of fright.
I seek Your face O Lord I trust in Your power.
I know You protect me every minute every hour.
I set my face towards God Son.
I put my all in this race as I run.
Although the devil is always a step behind.
I know this race is won. Yes I will make it as a winner over the finish line!
Because I kept my eyes on You and trusted You.
You kept Your hand on me the whole way through.
Thank You Jesus I love You.
Thank You Lord for loving me too.
One Step
No I am not going to talk about floor wax. I want to talk about how following Jesus I seem to be one step closer to home and one step ahead of the devil. I have to do all I can to stay in step in line behind Jesus. I have to really push and press in to keep that pace through time with Him, seeking Him, prayer, praise, study the bible, fellowship, taking care of my home, my family and reaching out to the lost. It's good that following Him keeps me busy and focused on Him; that way I don't have time to look back and see the devil running up behind me. Also it doesn't leave me much time to get in trouble. I know the devil is right behind me all the time looking for a foot hold or a way to discourage me, or destroy me, or to fulfill all the other evil plans He has for my life. Just as God has good plans for my life the devil has evil plans. I try to keep saturated with God's word, songs of praise to God it helps to drown out the devil a lot of times. Sometimes I use God's words and songs of praise to literally shove him out (get behind me satan). It seems that when there is trouble and woe and I draw close to God and pray and get victory; it's not long before the devil is back nipping at my heels. It is good that I always remember that the devil is right behind me; so I will be on guard (Watch and pray). It is good I keep close to Jesus and pursue Him with all my might it keeps me alert and focused, ready and prepared for the devils attacks. I am always one step away from my heavenly home and thanks be to Jesus I am ready. I am always one step behind Him so I can better see how to follow Him but; He is closer than a brother, father, or husband when I call on His name. The choices I make can also make me one step into or out of the kingdom of heaven. If I choose to obey God I am in if I disobey I am out and if I repent and trust and obey I am in again. Or if I listen to my mind or flesh and allow a bad seed to grow I am out but, if I nip that seed in the bud and don't let it grow I am in. One step seems so simple; some times can seem so hard. I am in the race hard on the heels of Jesus, they devil is hard on the heels of me. But following Jesus I will win. Not first place that belongs to Him. As for the devil read the book he loses.
"Away with you satan! For you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve. "Matthew 4:10, "Get behind Me satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." Matthew16:23 "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." Mark 8:34 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37
