Lord I am but a babe teach me how to walk and talk like You. Amen.

A prayer About Word and Deed

Teach me O Lord Your ways.

Set a guard over my tongue all my days.

I want to love others as you do.

I want my words like Yours to be faithful and true.

And when I have nothing to say,

May my caring heart show anyway.

Words Worth

People have said things to me like, "Let go and let God." "Cast your bread upon the waters and it will return to you." 'Take His yoke upon you." I know these saying and others are worth their weight in gold but, the application makes me scratch my head. I would love to do those things at times; but how? Christians have lots of  good saying or advice and I have seen some of these things in the bible but, I don't always understand how to apply them. Then I think about the non--Christian person out there and how it must be even harder for them to take to heart what I say when I spout a bible saying at them when they need help. Jesus is teaching me that words have more worth when I am willing to say things I can live, and live things I say. There is nothing wrong with being a silent friend. By this I mean suppose your friend has cancer and you go to see them and just don't know what to say. Don't just run off  ask them if they want anything, or if you can do anything for them. Or just sit there with them quietly; sometimes to just not be alone is good. Or just to have a friend is good. It doesn't have to be s friend with cancer it could be just someone having a bad day. Or someone who was just yelled at or hurt by words. A silent friend doesn't always need words because our spirit and our hearts speak. This comes from relationships that were grown over time carefully and prayerfully. Jesus is also teaching me the worth of ones words like a relationship takes careful, prayerful growing. Words gain worth when it is said by someone who is honest, dependable, reliable, discrete, trust worthy. I have so much to learn about words their worth, their power, and more. I pray that God will put a guard over my mouth always. Words can build up or they can tear down. They can heal or wound. They can bring someone to Jesus or they can turn them away.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in  settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11 (They are beautiful and valuable) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:35-37 Lord have mercy on me! My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14 My prayer.
