If you don't rest you won't eventually you wont do very well and If you don't rest you might break.

Rest

You Oh Lord know me best.

Therefore I obey when You say rest.

My mind and flesh try to scurry about.

My spirit tells them to cut it out.

Then as I settle my thoughts on You.

My mind and flesh starts to obey my spirit too.

Then comes the peace and the calm.

To my spirit is is like a heavenly balm.

And in this quiet place You've led me to.

I hear You whisper and I feel the nearness of  You.

I lay down in my spirit like a lamb in Your arms.

I am carried away by You from all worries and alarms.

I am renewed and refreshed by Your words spoken to my heart.

I find assurance from You that we will never part.

I love You Lord and in You I am blessed.

I give You thanks for this rest.

Today

Today I want to pray for Israel. Today I want to become more like Jesus. Today I want to help people to know God in a more real and intimate way. Today I want to not sin and obey God. Today, today, today. I have a lot of wants for today. But what does God want today? God wants all those things I just mentioned and more. No one knows the mind of God. But through His word and prayer we can know His heart and some of His will. After all He is God and His ways are higher than ours, His thoughts than our thoughts. He sees and knows things that we cant see and don't know. I give thanks to God for each day I have here on earth. At any given moment it may be my time to leave here. Then I will give Him thanks for being home with Him. It gets harder each day to separate home in heaven from home on earth because He is always with me. Here today He talks to me here, sees everything I do, hears all I say, knows all bout me, and more. It will be the same in heaven too. Here today I talk to Him, praise Him, and try to obey Him and more. It will be that way in heaven too. Except there will be no sin. Today I wanted to write about praying for Israel and about asking Daddy God to help me reach the goal of being Christ like and I had many other topics come to mind. As I start to write on these many topics none of them were coming out quite right. So I  would get half way through each and delete them. And I would ask again Lord what do You want me to write about. The thought that keeps coming to mind is rest. There comes times when He wants me to do absolutely nothing. Just be with Him doing nothing. It reminds me of a story I read yesterday about a preacher who kept pigeons. One day he was playing with one of the birds in a light hearted way. A hunter passed by and said, "I can't believe you are playing with a bird. You are a preacher. You should be serious and at your studies." The preacher said to the hunter, " I see your bow string is loose." The hunter said, "Yes I keep it slack when I am not hunting because if  I keep it tight all the time it will get weak. And ruin the bow." The preacher said, "The same goes for me. If  I stay serious and don't relax some of the time I too will grow weak and be ruined." 

Today I will give parts of scriptures so you will have something to look up while you rest. Rest in the Lord Psalm 37:7, Then you will find rest. Jeremiah 6:16, And I will give you rest Matthew 11:28, The bible is full of many good scriptures about rest. It even says God rested. He didn't have to. But isn't that just like God to not ask us to do something He wouldn't do Himself?
