As I sail through life I want the best in control of this vessel. I hereby this day recommit this vessel and submit this vessel to The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen
Ships Prayer
Lord come be the captain of this vessel.
I am worn and the currents I can no longer wrestle.
Come Holy Spirit and be my rudder.
Blow the breath of God into my sails.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit take command let there be no other.
My timbers shiver in the storms as I hear the lost soul's desperate wails.
But I have all my faith in You my captain sure and true.
I know you will bring me to my home port as You said You would do.
Sailing
My husband is great at sailing no matter what size the boat. I don't know much about sailing. My husband has taken me in a small sail boat before, and for me it was a two sided coin. On the one side I loved clipping along hearing the water swish by. On the other side I was scared of the way sail boats lean making you think any minute it's going to turn over and fill with water. But I have every confidence in my husbands sailing abilities. From my husband I learned a few things about boats. I know that a boat has a rudder to steer it, sails to catch wind to propel it, a mast to hold up the sails and a captain (my husband) who handles the boat. Also I must obey the captain or I may end up in the drink! Life is similar to sailing. I love the part of life where everything is going along smoothly. But it's the scary and hard side of life that that lets me know my life is abundant and truly alive! I have every confidence in the captain of my vessel (Jesus). He has taught me a little about sailing in life. He has should me that the Holy Spirit is my rudder, He steers me. The bible is the ships log written by many who have sailed before me, It has maps and lot's of valuable information. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the wind that keeps me propelled. This is done by daily catching God's calling in my heart and being filled daily with the Holy Spirit. Salvation what Jesus did for me on the cross, is the mast. My mast is strong it is built of God's love for me, my repenting when I do wrong, my accepting God's forgiveness, and God's grace. Jesus handles this vessel very well. I must obey Jesus and the Holy Spirit or I might end up in the fiery drink! I am still learning about earthly boats from my husband. I am still learning about life sailing from God.
I know whom I believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. part of 2 Timothy 1:12 But the Helper the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all the things that I said to you. John 14:26 That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ Ephesians 4: 14,15
